Caregiver Awards

TLC HealthCare™ Companies hosts an annual Caregiver Awards Ceremony that honors outstanding professional caregivers in our community. An independent committee of healthcare professionals is responsible for selecting the three award recipients based on qualities of Leadership, Compassion and Dedication to Quality of Care.

Direct Caregivers provide the majority of the hands on care to elders, chronically ill and disabled individuals. They work in Skilled Nursing Facilities, Assisted living Facilities, Adult Care Homes, Hospices, Home Health Companies and Private Residences throughout our community. The average salary is less than $9.00/hr and turnover ranges from 40-400% (Sherlock et al, 2006). Professional Direct Caregivers are underpaid, over-worked and often receive no health insurance benefits.
