Caregiver Awards

Direct caregivers provide the majority of the hands-on care to elders, chronically ill and disabled individuals. They work in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, adult care homes, hospices, home health care companies and private residences throughout our community. The average salary is less than $9.00/hr and turnover ranges from 40-400% (Sherlock et al, 2006). Professional direct caregivers are underpaid, over-worked and often receive no health insurance benefits.

In the past, TLC HealthCare™ Companies hosted an annual Caregiver Awards Ceremony that honored outstanding professional caregivers in our community. These awards are currently awarded by the Direct Caregiver Association of Tucson.

“Recognizing the compassion and hard work that goes into providing hands-on care to people is so important,” says Dr. Scott Bolhack, CEO/Founder of TLC HealthCare™ Companies. “Nursing assistants and caregivers are the heart and soul of those facilities and agencies that take care of our elderly or disabled residents and they need to be recognized for their leadership and outstanding service.”
